Email notifications

Which emails Vaeroly sends you, which ones you can switch off, and the ones you have to switch on yourself.

Choose your emails

  1. Open Profile (on the main site it's under Profile & password).
  2. In the Emails card, tick the emails you want and untick the others.
  3. Press Save email choices.

Your choices apply at every airline you fly for. Every email you can switch off also has a link at the bottom that switches it off in one click.

Emails you can switch off

These come unless you untick them:

  • Announcements from Vaeroly: new features and service news.
  • Comments on PIREPs: replies from staff or pilots. You get at most one email about a PIREP's comments every 10 minutes.
  • Event reminders: a day before an event you signed up for.
  • Reminders to keep flying: a week before an airline would mark you inactive.

Emails you switch on

These are off until you tick them:

  • A weekly summary of your flying, on Mondays.
  • Duel challenges and results: when someone challenges you, and how a duel ended.
  • Promotions and awards you earn: a new rank or an award.

Emails that always come

Emails about your account and its security (confirming your address, password resets, a new ACARS sign-in, a changed password or email), and decisions on your own flights and requests, always come. They can't be switched off.

Whether you get an email when staff accept or reject a PIREP depends on your airline: with Review tools on, every decision is emailed. A decision changed later is always emailed, with the reason. See What the PIREP statuses mean.

For airline owners

The weekly summary of the airlines you own isn't on your Profile. Each airline switches it on or off under Email the owner a weekly summary, on the Basics tab of Staff → Airline settings → Settings.

Not getting emails?

  • Look in your spam folder, and add the sender to your contacts.
  • If emails to your address bounce, Vaeroly stops sending them and the Emails card says so. Check the address with your email provider, then ask us to try again.
  • To use another address, see Your account: email, password and two-step login.
