Watching live
If your airline has switched on Watching live and you stream your flights on Twitch or YouTube, add the link and other pilots can watch you fly.
Add your channel
- Open your Profile.
- Under Watching live, paste your channel's link, for example
https://twitch.tv/yournameorhttps://www.youtube.com/@yourname, and press Save.
Only https:// links to twitch.tv or youtube.com (and youtu.be) are accepted. Remove takes the channel off.
A link for one flight
For a single flight, for example a YouTube live video, open the booking and paste the link under Watching live. It replaces your channel for that flight only. You can also set it from My flight, the page that follows your flight on your phone.
Where it shows
While ACARS is tracking your flight, a Watch live link shows next to it:
- on your airline's Live map and the live flights on its dashboard,
- on the page of an event you signed up for, while the event is on,
- on Vaeroly's public live map, if your airline is on it,
- in your airline's Discord post when you depart, if it posts departures.
The link opens the stream on Twitch or YouTube in a new tab: Vaeroly never plays it on its own pages. When the flight ends, the link goes away.
If you ticked Hide my flights from other pilots' live maps on your profile, nobody but you and your airline's staff sees the link, and nothing is posted to Discord.
For staff
Switch it on under Staff → Airline settings → Optional features → Watching live.
