Notifications and Vaeroly on your phone

The bell at the top of every page shows what needs your attention at your airlines. You can also put Vaeroly on your phone's home screen, like an app.

The bell

The bell is at the top of the main site, next to your name. On an airline's pages it's in the menu (on a phone: at the top, next to the menu button). A number on it says how many notifications you haven't opened yet.

Press it to see your Notifications, newest first. Press one to open what it's about; that marks it as read. Mark all as read clears the number.

Only you see your notifications. Older ones stay on the later pages of the list. They're deleted with your account.

What you're told about

  • Your flights: staff accepted, rejected or invalidated a PIREP, changed its points, or asked you a question about it; staff replied to your comment.
  • Duels: someone challenged you, and how a duel ended.
  • Promotions and awards: a new rank or an award.
  • Events: a reminder a day before an event you signed up for (when your airline sends event reminders).
  • Your requests: your application to an airline, leave, rank transfer, flight claims, checkrides and roster results.
  • Your membership: suspended, active again, removed, or marked inactive.
  • Your airline: a news post meant for you, and a document staff ask you to read.

Staff are also told when a PIREP waits for their review (one notification until they've read it, not one per flight), when a pilot replies on a PIREP, and when someone applies to join, for the hubs their role covers.

Notifications come as well as emails, not instead of them. Which emails you get is up to you: see Email notifications.

Vaeroly on your phone's home screen

Vaeroly can be added to your phone's home screen. It then opens full screen, like an app, straight to My airlines.

  • Android (Chrome): open Vaeroly, press the menu (three dots), then Add to home screen or Install app.
  • iPhone and iPad (Safari): open Vaeroly, press Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • On a computer (Chrome or Edge): press the install icon at the end of the address bar.

It's the same website: you sign in as usual, and nothing extra is installed or stored. Without an internet connection it shows a short "You're offline" page; try again once you're back online. It doesn't send phone notifications: use the bell, and email.
