Rosters and bidding

Some airlines publish a monthly roster: a set of pairings (a few flights flown in order, usually out and back) that pilots bid for. The pairings you win appear in My trips.

Bidding

1. Open Book a flight → Rosters and pick the open roster.
2. Rank the pairings you want: 1 is your first choice, up to 10 choices. Some pairings need a minimum rank.
3. You can change your bids until bidding closes; the page shows when.

How pairings are awarded

When bidding closes, pilots are taken in the airline's award order: most hours at the airline first (seniority), longest-serving first, or whoever bid first. In each round, every pilot in turn gets their best-ranked pairing that still has a seat, until they reach the roster's limit per pilot or run out of choices. You get an email with what you won, and the roster page shows everyone's result.

Each pairing you win becomes a trip: book, fly and file its legs as usual, any time within the roster's dates.

For staff

Build rosters on Staff → Operations → Rosters (the Rosters switch needs Trips on). Give the roster its dates, when bidding closes, how many pairings one pilot can win and the award order. Add pairings from your schedule by flight numbers, or press Generate from the schedule to start from out-and-back pairings, then Open bidding. Pairings are awarded automatically when bidding closes, or straight away with Award now.
