My flight wasn't recorded
What to do when a flight you flew doesn't show up as a PIREP: it may still be on your computer, ACARS may be able to continue it, or you can send it to staff yourself.
The PIREP is waiting on your computer
If the crew centre couldn't be reached when you parked, ACARS keeps the PIREP on your computer and sends it by itself when the connection is back. Press Send now in ACARS to try straight away. Positions that couldn't be sent are kept with the flight and sent with their own times, so the track has no gap.
Don't remove ACARS while a PIREP is still waiting: the remove button waits for it to be sent.
ACARS closed in the middle of the flight
ACARS saves the flight on your computer as you fly. Open it again and it asks whether to continue the flight:
- Yes continues it. Load the aircraft where it was.
- No starts a new flight and throws the saved one away.
- Cancel decides later.
The PIREP then says how long ACARS was closed. That time wasn't tracked, but it still counts in the block time.
ACARS couldn't track the flight at all
If your airline allows it, send the flight to staff yourself. There are two ways, and your airline decides which ones it offers.
Claim a flight
With claims switched on, open My flights → Claims:
- Pick Your booking if tracking failed on a booked flight (the route and aircraft then come from it), or Not a booked flight and pick the route and aircraft.
- Fill in the Date flown, the block time, the landing rate and the fuel used.
- Say What happened, for example "ACARS lost the connection after take-off".
- Paste up to 5 Screenshot links: https links to images (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, 5 MB each), for example from Google Drive shared with "Anyone with the link". Vaeroly doesn't store the pictures, so the links must keep working until staff decide; image links from chat apps can expire.
- Press Send claim.
Staff see your claim with its screenshots in their review queue. If they approve it, a PIREP is made from it; if they reject it, they give a reason. You get an email either way, and Your claims on the same page shows the decision.
Manual PIREP
If your airline allows manual PIREPs, your booking page has Manual PIREP. Fill in the flight's figures and send it. A manual PIREP always goes to staff for review.
What a typed-in landing earns
A landing rate you type in yourself, on a claim or a manual PIREP, shows on the PIREP as "typed in, not graded". It earns no landing points and no passenger reviews, and it isn't in your landing average or the smooth-landing awards. Only a landing ACARS measured counts for those.
Still nothing?
Ask your airline's staff. If a PIREP was filed but looks wrong, comment on it: see Replying to staff about a PIREP. For problems with the app itself, see ACARS troubleshooting.
