Your public pilot profile

Your public profile is a page about your flying that anyone with the link can open, and that you can share on Discord, social media or a forum. It's off until you turn it on, and only you can turn it on: your airline's staff can't.

Turning it on

  1. Open Profile from the menu.
  2. In the Account card, under Privacy, tick Public profile.
  3. If you like, type a Profile address: 3 to 30 letters, digits or hyphens, starting with a letter, for example captain-sam. Your page is then at /pilot/captain-sam. Leave it empty to use the address with your account number (/u/ and a number).
  4. Press Save.

You'll see "Profile saved." and, under the settings, your page's link with Copy link and Open it. Each address can belong to only one pilot, and a few words the site uses itself can't be taken.

If Leave me off leaderboards is ticked too, also tick Show my public profile even though I'm left off leaderboards: you're asked once, so that being off leaderboards and having a public page is always your own choice.

What it shows

  • Your name as you set it on your Profile, and the month you joined.
  • Your totals across the airlines it shows: hours, flights, distance, airlines, average landing and the aircraft types you flew.
  • For each of those airlines: your pilot ID, rank, hours, flights, average landing and awards.
  • Your passport: the countries and airports you've flown to.
  • Your Vaeroly Cup places and, if you shared it, your year in review.
  • Your recent flights: the route and the date only.

Only flights you flew and had accepted count. A flight in progress never shows, and neither does your position.

It shows the airlines you fly for that are open and listed in the public airline directory. Airlines that aren't listed, airlines you left or where you're suspended, and the demo airline stay off it, with their flights.

What it never shows

Your email address, VATSIM or IVAO number, Discord account, SimBrief username, notes from staff, or anything you didn't choose to show.

Search engines are asked not to list your page, so only people you give the link to find it. To let them find it, tick Let search engines find my page and press Save.

Shared on Discord, WhatsApp or X, the link shows a picture card with your name and totals.

Turning it off

Untick Public profile and press Save. The page and its picture card stop working at once, at both addresses. Your address stays yours while you keep it in the box, so you can turn the page back on later with the same link.

If your account is suspended or you ask for it to be deleted, the page stops working too.
